Foothills Conservancy Welcomes Two New Staff Members

Foothills Conservancy of North Carolina is pleased to announce two new members of its team: Isaac Crouch, office and finance administrator, and Sophie Shelton, communications and outreach associate.

As office and finance administrator, Isaac Crouch oversees daily operations of the conservancy’s office and manages its finances and donor records. Crouch grew up in Morganton and holds a bachelor’s degree in physics from Appalachian State University and a master’s degree in science education from Michigan Technological University. “I love this community,” says Crouch. “I feel privileged to have the opportunity to lend my skills to the amazing work Foothills Conservancy does.”

In the newly created communications and outreach associate position, Sophie Shelton is responsible for implementing programs to increase the conservancy’s community visibility and public support. She also works with Development Director Beth Willard-Patton on marketing, fundraising and events.

Shelton grew up in Roanoke, Virginia, among the Blue Ridge Mountains. She holds a bachelor’s degree in communication studies from Longwood University. “It just makes sense to take care of the places we love so that we can keep enjoying them,” says Shelton. “I am absolutely thrilled to be part of a team dedicated to ensuring these places are still around for years to come. It’s a fantastic feeling to be making a difference surrounded by individuals that care so much about this cause.”
