On Saturday, January 20, Foothills Conservancy of North Carolina hosts a hike at Shortoff Mountain in the Linville Gorge, led by Executive Director Andrew Kota. The three-hour hike to the top of the mountain will be strenuous, and will feature views of conservancy-protected lands, including parts of the Linville Gorge and Lake James. Hikers will meet at the trailhead at 10:00 a.m. The outing is expected to last about three hours. The hike is free to FCNC members and $10 per person for non-members. RSVP is required.
