On Saturday, August 3, Foothills Conservancy of North Carolina will host a meet and greet at Fonta Flora Brewery at Whippoorwill Farm in Nebo from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. The event was originally scheduled for May 4, but was rescheduled due to weather. The event is free and all are welcome to attend. Food and beverages will be available for purchase.
Attendees will learn about Foothills Conservancy’s land and water conservation efforts in the foothills of Western North Carolina from conservancy staff — all while enjoying craft beer in the viewshed of Shortoff Mountain and conservancy-protected land. The first 50 attendees will receive a special gift courtesy of Foothills Conservancy.
During the meet and greet event, the brewery will host a Wisteria Southern Gastropub pop-up and serve popular items from their menu like hamburgers and sides. Current brewer and former head chef at Wisteria, Obie Ferguson, will prepare food starting at noon. These items will be available while supplies last. The brewery also recently announced the arrival of the Singlewyd food trailer, a permanent food service at their Whippoorwill Farm location, which will provide locally sourced dishes to accompany their craft beers.
