Our Big Backyard Field Trip

Students will visit Oak Hill Community Park and Forest and participate in several activities to learn more about the land conservation projects happening there. Activities led by Foothills Conservancy staff include:

  • Guided tree ID hike along 2 miles of newly built natural surface trail. (1 hr)

  • Tree planting demonstration and option for students to plant a small seedling. (1 hr)

  • Color a tree cookie craft and learn how to read the rings of a tree. (30 mins)

*All craft materials will be supplied. Activity times can be adjusted depending on time available.


Volunteers are needed to help supervise students and engage them in learning activities. All OBB volunteers must complete a background check after signing up.
