Foothills Conservancy Hosts Shortoff Mountain Hike January 20

On Saturday, January 20, Foothills Conservancy of North Carolina hosts a hike at Shortoff Mountain in the Linville Gorge, led by Executive Director Andrew Kota. The three-hour hike to the top of the mountain will be strenuous, and will feature views of conservancy-protected lands, including parts of the Linville Gorge and Lake James. Hikers will take a break at the peak for lunch before hiking back to the trailhead. Participants are encouraged to pack food and plenty of water, and to wear sturdy hiking footwear.Hikers will meet at the trailhead at 10:00 a.m. The outing is expected to last about three hours.
