Foothills Conservancy Hosts Guided Hike on South Mountains Headwaters Preserve March 3

On Saturday, March 3, Foothills Conservancy of North Carolina will host a public hike at its South Mountains Headwaters Preserve, led by the conservancy’s conservation associate, Ryan Sparks.The hike will begin with a short, strenuous ascent up to a beautiful, flat cove, followed by an easy walk along a primitive road at the shared boundary of the preserve with the newest addition to the South Mountains State Park. The out-and-back hike is expected to last between two and three hours. Participants are encouraged to pack food and plenty of water, and to wear hiking footwear.There is a $10 per person fee for those who have not made a contribution to Foothills Conservancy in the past 12 months.
