MORGANTON, N.C. — Foothills Conservancy of North Carolina recently welcomed a new member, Rachael Dial, to its team. Dial joined the organization in September as the office and finance administrator, a role in which she is responsible for daily operations of the conservancy's office and managing its finances and donor records.

“Rachael has adapted quickly during this unique year to become a vital part of our staff,” said Beth Willard-Patton, associate director for the conservancy. “I am increasingly impressed with her enthusiasm and proactive nature. I think I speak on behalf of our entire staff when I say that we are glad to have her with us.”

Dial has spent most of her life in Burke County, which led to her love of the outdoors and the mountains. Dial earned her associate degree from Caldwell Community College and brings more than a decade of office and finance experience to the Foothills Conservancy team. When she’s not busy at work, she enjoys spending time with her family, being outdoors, crafting, cooking and reading.

“I am honored to have the opportunity to be a part of this wonderful team conserving the lands for future generations to come,” Dial said.

Foothills Conservancy

Foothills Conservancy of North Carolina inspires conservation in Western North Carolina by permanently protecting land and water for the benefit of people and all living things.

A 501(c)(3) nonprofit, Foothills Conservancy serves eight counties: Alexander, Burke, Caldwell, Catawba, Cleveland, Lincoln, McDowell and Rutherford, in three major river basins: the Broad, Catawba, and Yadkin.

We envision a thriving region to live and visit, with clean water, healthy forests, productive farmland, diverse wildlife, access to outdoor recreation, and communities that value conservation.
