Foothills Conservancy welcomes Annette Henson as new Office & Finance Administrator

Foothills Conservancy of North Carolina welcomed Annette Henson as the new Office & Finance Administrator. In this role, Henson will manage Foothills Conservancy’s accounting, financial bookkeeping and office management needs.

“Foothills Conservancy’s staff and board are excited to have Annette joining the team,” said Executive Director Andrew Kota. “Her valuable experience, and her previous tenure with Foothills Conservancy, will be strong assets to the organization.”

As a proud Burke County native and graduate of Appalachian State University, Henson brings over 20 years of experience in a successful accounting, administrative and financial recordkeeping career that covered the public, nonprofit, and private sectors – including a previous stint working for Foothills Conservancy shortly after its founding, from 1998–2000.

“Returning to Foothills Conservancy is a dream come true,” said Henson. “I’ve followed and passionately supported Foothills Conservancy’s work for many years. I feel fortunate to be able to return now and support the success of the organization.”

Foothills Conservancy

Foothills Conservancy of North Carolina inspires conservation in Western North Carolina by permanently protecting land and water for the benefit of people and all living things.

A 501(c)(3) nonprofit, Foothills Conservancy serves eight counties: Alexander, Burke, Caldwell, Catawba, Cleveland, Lincoln, McDowell and Rutherford, in three major river basins: the Broad, Catawba, and Yadkin.

We envision a thriving region to live and visit, with clean water, healthy forests, productive farmland, diverse wildlife, access to outdoor recreation, and communities that value conservation.
