Foothills Conservancy of North Carolina is now accepting public input on the Oak Hill Community Park and Forest master plan.

Destination by Design prepared an initial draft of the conceptual master plan for the park using recommendations from a steering committee of local stakeholders and Foothills Conservancy staff. In this draft plan, concept maps of the property show potential areas for public access, parking and trailhead locations, walking and mountain biking trails, a community event center, an outdoor education area, agricultural fields, an area for historic discovery and sites to be used for camping.

Following the public feedback period, Destination by Design will use this input to create and present a final draft of the park master plan to Foothills Conservancy.

To submit feedback and to view a slideshow of the recorded master plan presentation, visit foothillsconservancy.org/masterplan. The deadline to submit feedback is Friday, March 26.

Foothills Conservancy

Foothills Conservancy of North Carolina inspires conservation in Western North Carolina by permanently protecting land and water for the benefit of people and all living things.

A 501(c)(3) nonprofit, Foothills Conservancy serves eight counties: Alexander, Burke, Caldwell, Catawba, Cleveland, Lincoln, McDowell and Rutherford, in three major river basins: the Broad, Catawba, and Yadkin.

We envision a thriving region to live and visit, with clean water, healthy forests, productive farmland, diverse wildlife, access to outdoor recreation, and communities that value conservation.
