Volunteer Tree Planting!

We are teaming up with EcoForesters to plant 300 hybrid American Chestnut seedlings at Oak Hill Community Park and Forest! Read about the importance of this tree species through The American Chestnut Foundation.

THE PLACE Oak Hill Community Park and Forest

THE PLAN Volunteers are needed to help dig approx. 6-12" holes using post hole diggers and gas powered augers. Others will come behind the diggers to plant the seedlings. Instructions on planting will be given at the start of the event and volunteers will be able to switch roles throughout the day. We will break for lunch around noon, provided by Foothills!

HOW TO PREPARE Please wear close toed shoes and long pants. Wear appropriate layers for the weather. Bring a small daypack to carry water and snacks (both provided!). If under 18 please request a liability release form from bwatkins@foothillscoservancy.org prior to the day of the event, to be signed by a legal guardian.
