Guided Hike at Wildacres Retreat Center September 23

On Saturday, September 23, Foothills Conservancy of North Carolina, Conservation Trust for North Carolina, and Wildacres Retreat Center will co-host a public hike on the beautiful Wildacres Retreat Center trail network. Beginning at 10:30 a.m., the moderate two-hour hike will weave through rhododendron forests, pristine streams, and scenic vistas.Following the hike, the land trusts will host a picnic lunch and presentation about the retreat center and its lands.Foothills Conservancy of North Carolina partnered with Conservation Trust for North Carolina to conserve the iconic Wildacres Retreat. The 1,000+ acre property contains five miles of streams and six miles of hiking trails below the dramatic Deerlick Gap Overlook on the Blue Ridge Parkway.The hike is free and open to the public, however space is limited.
